Architectural Interior Design for dotFNB
First National Bank, named most innovative bank worldwide for 2012 at the BAI-Finacle Global Banking Awards in Washington, DC, wanted a state-of-the-art branch design concept for its digital self-service banking amenities. Named dotFNB, this branch needed to become a touch point for FNB to widen its reach of those exposed to banking via digital channels. One of the key objectives was to create a retail space wherein concierge staff assists customers in the training and promotion of FNB banking platforms.
The result is a slick “digital” look that provides an engaged customer experience. The continuous, fluid layout establishes a unifying touch-point for FNB smart-product usage and services. Smart device pods showcase the latest smartphones and tablets and interactive surfaces contain augmented reality experiences, savings and eBucks calculators as well as a share swarm (an interactive graphic representation of shares and various other tradable entities available on the JSE) and FNB Connect training videos.
The new dotFNB branches, together with “Bank in a bag”, its fuel reward and the FNB Banking app for smartphones contributed to FNB winning the BAI-Finacle Global Banking Award main award.
